Anthony Reddy Associates were commissioned in 1998, in association with Urban Initiatives and Urban Projects by the Dublin Docklands Development Authority for the Grand Canal Docks Planning Study to prepare an Area Action Plan for the Grand Canal Dock Area under the Dublin Docklands Development Act 1997. The Grand Canal Docks comprises the lands framing the inner and outer basins of the Grand Canal Docks. The area is well connected to the city being on the south side of the Liffey with a predominant industrial land use.
