Building lines are consistent and complete with defined private spaces to the interior of the blocks. Dwellings are either houses or duplex arrangements with a common monopitch cross section allowing for ease and efficiency of construction.
Architectural rhythm in the public realm is achieved by a strong articulation of chimneys and large upper floor windows. The increase in scale is seen as appropriate in the context of a very large residential area with a preponder ance of otherwise similarly scaled streetscapes.
Non-parallel elevations support animated streets by the increased and varying dimensions between opposing elevations, while yet maintaining a clear legibility as to that which is public and private. Corners interrupt the rhythm but maintain the block integrity – irregularities of geometries are resolved at the corner locations.
