HKR Architects has been issued with a decision to grant planning permission by Dublin City Council for the development of Blackpitts, a 1.4 acre site in Dublin 8.
The development will be for mixed use and will comprise residential, retail, office and commercial units, with the emphasis on residential. The scheme will include 7 buildings with a floor area of 200,000 sq ft. Some of the existing buildings, including Tenter’s pub and a derelict malt house, will be retained and their features incorporated into the new development.
The regeneration of this area will include the existing Tenter’s pub, 136 apartments, 48,000 sq ft of office space, 27,000 sq ft of retail/commercial units, a crèche with play area, and an art gallery which will be located in the old Malt House. There will also be basement parking, allowing maximisation of the surface area for landscaping and pedestrian access.
